Understanding the Two Categories
Rally Flight is designed to bring together pilots with different backgrounds, experience levels, and competitive goals.
For that reason, the event is structured into two distinct categories: Elite and Challenge.
Both categories share the same spirit of adventure, navigation, and endurance — but differ in complexity, scoring, and performance demands.
Challenge Category
The Challenge category is focused on long-distance flying and real-world navigation experience.
- Total distance: 1,200 km
- Point-to-point navigation
- Mandatory turn points
- No specific FAI task requirements
- Emphasis on endurance, strategy, and consistency
- Simplified scoring system
- Experience-driven rewards
This category is ideal for pilots who want to push their limits, explore diverse landscapes, and be part of the rally without the pressure of full competitive formats.
Elite Category
The Elite category represents the highest competitive level of Rally Flight.
- Total distance: 1,300 km
- Full competitive format
- Advanced navigation tasks
- FAI-based task structure
- Performance-focused scoring
- Precision, timing, and decision-making are critical
- Major prizes and rankings
Elite is designed for highly experienced pilots who thrive under competition conditions and want to measure their skills against the best.
One Rally. Two Paths. Same Sky.
Whether flying Elite or Challenge, all pilots share:
- The same airspace philosophy
- The same respect for safety and rules
- The same passion for flight, strategy, and adventure
The difference lies in how far you want to push performance — and how you want to live the experience
